I have posted on another thread about the virtual disappearce of birds from my area (Maryland/Chesapeake Bay). Birds of all types are just...gone. The silence and lack of bird song is noticeable and unusual. The usual riotous squirrel population has also gone missing. Has there been any local media reporting on this?

I may contact them. I keep hoping it is just a natural reaction to our drought (which was finally broken this week). Maybe most people don't pay attention to birds like I do. But surely if this is a real unnatural phenomenon it will show up over on the Maryland Eastern Shore among the wild duck and goose population. If we ever get bird flu here I worry about the Eastern shore and the huge chicken farm industry there.
