And another. Hope you don't mind.
My friend, were it not for Israel's Messiah, I would have no interest in Israel.
I dunno if it was God but, somebody done zotted you!
And were it not for "Israel's Messiah" I suppose you'd also have no interest in the TaNa"KH? Who authorizes who, the TaNa"KH or J*sus? If the latter, you're committing a logical fallacy, and if the former, then the TaNa"KH (and not the "new testament") must be the authority to pass judgement on Jesus' claims.
The low state of Biblical sentimentalism is one reason this country is in the mess it's in.
Get the popcorn. ;)
Hello Zionist Conspirator. I was Christian for 30 years and finally gave a hearing to the Jewish Claims that Jesus was not the Messiah. I finally gave up trying to reconcile Hebrew Scriptures with the NT. It took alot of energy and then finally realized it was impossible. I had to finally say no to all of the psuedo spirituality and yield to the people who to whom the oracles of God have been entrusted. I'm in the process of a conservative Jewish conversion. Just wanted to quickly mention this hoping you'd find encouragement and would not hesitate to keep speaking your opinions. As a matter of fact I participated in these very same christian polemic discussion on this website for years. shalom.
Not at all. Thank you for the ping, dear Buggman!
Steven
You're most welcome. Happy Rosh Hashanah!
And Happy Rosh Hashanah to you, dear Buggman!
you too chuck :-)
NASBu 27: 9 Do not hide Thy face from me, Do not turn Thy servant away in anger; Thou hast been my help; Do not abandon me nor forsake me, O God of my salvation(Y'shua)!
Isaiah 12: 2 "Behold, God is my salvation(Y'shua), I will trust and not be afraid; For YHvH God is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation(Y'shua).
Psalm 118:14 YHvH is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation(Y'shua).
b'shem Y'shua
You and I are almost mirror images.
I was (am, I suppose) Jewish, raised somewhere between Conservative and Orthodox (depending on the time of life --- gradually became more Orthodx). Watched MWT, Sr., be honored as a kohanim, etc.
Through argument and careful following of Matthew, I became sure the New Testament was true.
Many paths in life, I suppose. I wish you well.
Who was David referring to, in Psalm 110:1, "The Lord said unto My Lord"?
Where is David's throne now? and who sits on it?
.Whom did Jesus send to be with us, to comfort us, and is this, "God with us", or Immanuel?
Micah 5:2, Jesus was born at Bethlehem (meaning House of Bread); Zechariah 12:10, Jesus was pierced by a sword, Zechariah 13:6, He bears the wounds in His hands, ;
Zec 9:9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.
All the prophets up to, and including John, foretold of the Messiah, so yes, a diligent study of the Tanach will show you just Who the Messiah is.

Is this article saying the Rapture will be this coming weekend? (I'm not complaining, but there are one or two things I haven't done yet . . .) |
Thanks.
You said -- "Is this article saying the Rapture will be this coming weekend?"
Well..., not necessariy -- but "could be". I guess it's saying that the Rapture will happen on Rosh Hashanah (which could be any year). The next question is what year?
There was an interesting aspect to that "not knowing the day or hour" -- in relation to Rosh Hashanah, in that it was the only Jewish Holidy in which it could not be determined to the day or hour (hence it being two day).
Mind you, I'm only repeating what I've read elsewhere. I don't know necessarily what to think about it.
What I do know, though, is that the time for Jesus Christ to come to set up His Kingdom on earth and be seated on the Throne of David is very close now (I mean in my time period, not some other century or other subsequent generation). So, I expect to see it myself.
You also said -- "(I'm not complaining, but there are one or two things I haven't done yet . . .).
You know..., I've always had that kind of thought, too. So, that makes me think that I better "get to it" -- for the things that I think are important, and then (secondly) be prepared to drop a lot of other things (that I wanted to do), when He does come again.

Y'all could look at this posting that I did a long time ago --
http://www.freerepublic.com/forum/a39e032ca390d.htm
It was titled -- "The Seven Festivals Of The Messiah"
It's very interesting, in the respect that these "festivals" are supposed to be fulfilled by Jesus Christ and that the first few have been fulfilled, while from the Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah) forward -- they have not yet.
It's a very interesting read.

You said -- "Many paths in life, I suppose."
Yes..., but, only one way for salvation, which is in Jesus Christ.

Here are some informational web pages for the Jewish calendar. This may be of interest to people. It's something I posted back in 2000.
