That's hard. I have family members (one of my brother's stepdaughters and many members of my sil family) who were flooded out. But having your family's house wiped out has to be soo traumatic.

Lord have mercy,
Christ have mercy,
Lord have mercy.

So many Lord, hurt, and lost, and who have been so injured by the last storm, and so many in danger from this. Help us, O Lord, in the hard days ahead, be with those who have lost their homes, their loved ones, their past lifes and livelyhoods, and all the little things that make us comfortable and secure.

Strengthen us against the grief and depression and anger and nihilism that can come from great tragedies, and teach us to know what really matters. And, if possible, smooth the way for those who need help most.

This we ask in the name of Jesus our Lord,
Amen.

Hail Holy Queen, mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness, our hope.
To you do we cry, poor banished children of Eve.
To you do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.
Turn then, most gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy toward us, and after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus.
O clement! O loving! O sweet Virgin Mary!

Pray for us, holy Mother of God, That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Amen.
