Someone had the sense to mount the statue that high. I wouldn't be surprised if it remains there.

Yes. It is the ICEL-ized version -- Michael Brown's web-edition of the same.

It will depend on the message our Blessed Mother wishes to send to us.

We must pray for Romulus and Askel5 who live in New Orleans. And I ask especially for prayers for the priest and parishioners of Old St. Patrick's.

St. Anthony's BriefEcce Crucem Domine,
Fugite, partes adversae,
Vicit Leo de Tribu Juda,
Radix David, alleluia.
English version:
Behold the Cross of the Lord!
Flee ye adversaries!
The Lion of the Tribe of Juda,
The Root of David has conquered, alleluia!
The exorcizing proclamation is carried on the person or placed in homes. It is also used in more specific situations, such as that encountered by the French seamen who found their ship tossed by an angry sea during a storm off Brittany's coast in 1708. One of the men wrote the words of St. Anthony's Brief, and threw it into the sea with a prayer to the Saint. Immediately, the seas calmed and the sailors were saved.

I've noticed comments about God and chastisement are not welcome on other threads (maybe these as well). Isn't that kind of thinking what got us into this situation in the first place?
Oh well. Some people never get it. Buckle up.

Also because of his love of the animals -- we can ask Padre Pio Santo for his intercession in this dire, dire situation.

Dearest, that must be the first US governmental announcement of a chastisement.

I can't remember, which one of our prophecies predicts entire cities will be swallowed up and disappear from the face of the earth?
Was it LaSalette, Fatima, or private seers?

My opinion which will be upsetting to many:
Our Blessed Mother wants all of us to know her as Our Lady of Prompt Succor and to call on her by this title because we are going to need her more and more. There is no doubt that New Orleans was spared the direct hit everyone expected, and I know that was Our Blessed Mother's doing. Not just to spare a city and let others suffer -- but to remind us that she is our Mother, that we need to repent before the Father, that all is not right in our nation and judgment falls upon the unjust who slaughter the innocent in the womb. If any of us are to be spared, we should remember this and promote devotion to Our Lady as Our Lady of Prompt Succor and promote repentance and confession. Worse than Katrina is coming, and I am always mindful of Therese Neumann's words after World War II about America. We must repent of our sins and set aside our pride, for we have sinned in the eyes of God.
