I looked on the website and at a quick glance I do not find a place where you can listen to the archives. However, this is the title and number of the sermon: 2044 - The Mystery of the Mustard Seed and the Devil's Dirty Birds. IRC, Adrian was mentioning that the faith of a mustard seed was small an simple for the lowly. Not something that one had to rise up to a lofty position to achieve. The Gospel was not a complex message instead it was very simple.

I was listening on level two as I was working on other projects, but he did mentioned at least seven ways to detect counterfeits.

First he mentioned that we need to be cautious as the imitation looks ALMOST identical to the real church. The counterfeit church can have a large congregation, missions programs, fellowships, etc.

However there are a few questions to ask in my paraphrasing:

Do they believe in the inerrancy of the Bible and use it a their source for doctrine? He does caution about scriptuure twisting (and my note proof texting).

Do they believe Jesus Christ was God incarnate and sinless?

Do they believe in the virgin birth, the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ and his ascenscion into heaven?

Do they believe our salvation is based in the atonement from Jesus Christ's death at the cross which paid our sin-debt in full? And that it is our faith in the work of Jesus Christ and no additional work (including baptism)

I'll have to remember the other points.... And I too heard in a lesson about studying the real currency versus focusing on the counterfeit. There are too many version of the counterfeit; however, there is one Truth. If we study the Word of God, I trust the Holy Spirit will bring it into remembrance in our point of need. Even though those with the gift of prophecy may have a stronger sensitivity and built-in alarm system to detect error, I believe God gives all His children discernment.

*** Do they believe Jesus Christ was God incarnate and sinless? ***

This is ground zero.

Every cult eventually gets around to attacking the nature of Christ.

One of the larger cults that is staring us in the face today is the cult of theological liberalism. Some people don't see it as a cult. They think of it as philosophy or elitism, but I see it being as much of a demoniacally inspired and controlled cult as any of the aberrant groups.
