And, by "dark," I mean that people who are obviously not with Christ, are not saved, and because of that, are influenced and led by other elements...

As a Catholic, what do you mean by "are not saved"?

I used an expression that other Christians of other denominations might recognize.

Salvation is through Christ. I do understand and accept Catholic instruction about this issue, however, if that's what you're asking.

I didn't anticipate a dogma discussion here, however. Although if you'd like to write about that, I'd find reading it worthwhile as I'm sure others would, too.

I attend Mass and receive Communion, I've been baptised and confirmed in the Catholic Church, I abide by the Vatican authority, if that's what you're asking.

My dad was a Catholic Priest (after I was born, converted and was confirmed a Catholic Priest).

Unfortunately, he's no longer here to talk this over with, but I've been saying some prayers for his intercession, particularly being that Father's Day is tomorrow.

Now I'm depressed again. Sorry.
