The service included readings from the Koran....

That's not news. After Sept. 11, the "National" Cathedral had a service that included an actual muslim imam in the pulpit, reading from the Quran!!

Word has in that Samuel Lloyd left a real mess behind him in his church in Boston. I, who am only an orthodox Lutheran layman after all, don't know the details. Can any knowledgeable Anglican (and perhaps Bostonian) Freeper fill us all in?

And why should a "National" cathedral be Episcopalian, anyway, especially with the current state of the ECUSA? A Serbian Orthodox national cathedral would do the nation's capital, and America as a whole, a lot more good!

The post Sept. 11 event was an ecumenical service. This was the installation service for the new dean who, according to what I understand, is not a Muslim.

Thank you for your post. I thank you for the infomation( I admit I had some confusion about the Episcopal faith and the Church of England as it pertains to the reformation. However, my reply was to the notion that "protestants need prayers" because of this abhorration. ECUSA needs prayer because it has "turned its back on the temple and worships the gods of the east."

It seems to me at this time that the large religious organizations have gone the way of the large religious organization in the time of Christ on this earth. It looks as if it may fall to the small specks of salt dotted about the earth that bear no name in particular and know little more than Christ and Him crucified, with humble preachers who preach the scriptures and humble congregations who read and heed the words of Christ. The day has come certainly when they will not endure sound doctrine, rather they gather to themselves false teachers who will tickle their ears and rationalize for them the sins they want to do.
