Funny, I thought that was the attitude of many in the "reformed" Churches as well. "Rome is wrong, we're right, you can only be saved with us!"

You will NEVER hear that in the MY Assembly of God. My pastor often says that the last thing he would want to be guilty of is denigrating anything God is doing through another Church.

We are "Bible-based" and clearly don't accept things that can't be reconciled with the Bible, but we would never say we are right and others are wrong. The Bible is right. We simply do our best, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit to understand and accept its teaching.

"Catholic unity" is a lot like "Democrat bipartisanship." "I'm right, you're wrong and you have to give in to me!!!!!"

and

"My pastor often says that the last thing he would want to be guilty of is denigrating anything God is doing through another Church. "

So why denigrate Catholic unity?

I'm Catholic, and your assertion is not how I think. Nor my priest. Nor my fellow parishoners. Please refrain from making such assumptions or generatlizations.

we would never say we are right and others are wrong.

So on abortion, gay marriage, the divinity and humanity of Jesus -- you wouldn't say that your view is right and another is wrong?

There are so many disagreements. Somebody's gotta be right, somebody's gotta be wrong.

Your pastor sounds very good. My Episcopal priest says the same-- that we need to be trying to reach the unchurched and those of no faith and leave other Christian churches in peace. Actually, we don't leave them alone, we do a fair number of joint special services and a lot of charity work with them.
