I prefer Julian the Divine. As last pagan emperor of Rome, in 361 he forbade Christians from teaching on the pagan writings (such as Homer's Iliad) and also forbade Pagans from teaching on the Christian Scriptures.
The Christians didn't care for that Separate but Equal stuff. They wanted to have pagans forbidden to teach their writings, while being permitted to misrepresent Pagan philosophy themselves. The same old story of the Established Church everywhere.
