It's nothing but a myth - in fact there is no evidence of it before the 1930s.

Does the second statement necessarily prove the first statement? Besides are you going to trust the scholarship of a priest who recently defended and justified the murder of Terri Shiavo?

Cekada is a sedevacantist. His moral theology in end-of-life issues ends in 1958, with the death of Pius XII. Thus, he views a feeding tube as an extraordinary means of life sustenance, as he would angioplasty and open heart surgery. He's clearly wrong on that.

However, his scholarship on the "visions" seems pretty solid, as he's backed up all six accounts.
