Yes it is. I sympathize with the guy, but this kind of muddleheadedness in moral theology is what led to the problem in the first place.
It's also not any better. Would we elect as bishop someone who was openly involved in a wife swapping ring, or a single man who had fathered children out of wedlock?
That's only $10,000 per member, probably less than $20,000 per family unit. Of course, they'll need to budget for the Bishop's share as well.
"It's not meant to be exclusive; people struggle with chasity as heterosexuals," Stasney said. "Homosexuality is not any worse than adultery and fornication, but you couldn't put an active adulterer, or fornicator or a homosexual in leadership and say it's OK."
Amen. I could not have put it better than that. It's not discriminaiton to object to sinful behavior. It's the modern secularists who keep bringing up the sexual issues over and over again. They seem to be obsessed with sex and want everything concerning it to be declared OK. It's just a matter of time when they will also approve of pornography, pedophilia and incest.
I think it is the height of silliness for these folks to berate conservatives as being "hung-up" on sex. They are the ones who are idolizing their ilicit behaviors.
" "The national Episcopal Church created the crisis when it acted against church teaching and elected as bishop Gene Robinson, a self-declared homosexual living openly in relationship with a male partner É (the church) also approved the blessing of same sex unions and refused to reaffirm adherence to traditional Christian teachings," St. Nicholas stated in a press release. "
Doesn't anyone else chuckle at the image of Santa Claus issuing press releases criticizing gay marriage?
The crisis was created a long time ago for those who were paying attention.
