I'm not really anti-Roman much at all.

Pentecostals and Charismatics of every denomination as well as every other denomination have their own human idols that they put before God, too.

We all as individuals and as members of various groups must be sensitive to Holy Spirit to keep such out of our lives. It's a natural human tendency to set them up and bow down to them--all with the best of intentions and mental images, of course . . . sort of, partially, at least.

I'm against traditions of men; doctrines of men in every denomination and group. And they are in virtually every group. The Roman ones are mostly 'merely' older and more entrenched and often more overtly obvious.

I've met very few Romans who seemed to have a fitting attitude toward Mary.

To some degree or another, it has persistently seemed to me that regardless of the rationalizations, history, doctinre, Papal edicts or whatever else cited . . .

IN PRACTICE

THE WAY MOST ROMANS I KNOW RELATE TO MARY, Mary ends up robbing Jesus of devotion, time, attention, focus RIGHTFULLY HIS which He bought with an awesome price.

MARY HERSELF WOULD DEPLORE THAT.

I worked with a precious Mary Knoll sister in China. She had been there before the revolution and was then back teaching and loving the Chinese in Jesus name quite effectively. We considered one another brothers and sisters in The Lord. I expect to see her in Heaven.

In addition to the above, I have a pretty strong aversion to stuff added on to Scripture as doctrine--in any and every denomination and group. So, I suppose one of my major . . . sticking points this side of eternity is likely to always be unfitting devotion to Mary. I think it's a trick of the enemy to rob Jesus of HIS ABSOLUTELY PROPER AND KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS FOCUS.

Every group has such tricks from the enemy. I'm an equal opportunity harrasser on that score.
