"Why do you "look" to her at all, when she "points the way to Jesus"?"

Why look at the moon and the stars and dream of heaven? Because she is our beautiful mother. Honoring her does not take away any of God's glory.

Motherbear, I think it was you that keeps talking about Catholics only talking about Mary.(Forgive me, if I have you confused with another.) Maybe the reason we talk so much about Mary is because Protestants constantly bring up objections to her.

The scriptures tell us that the moon and the stars proclaim the glory of God.. It does not say that about any human being even his mother . What did Jesus say?

Mat 12:46 While he yet talked to the people, behold, [his] mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him.
Mat 12:47 Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee.
Mat 12:48 But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?
Mat 12:49 And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
Mat 12:50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

They were attempting to stop His ministry there. . At that moment his mother and brethren were not doing the will of the Father . Jesus was rebuking them .

Jesus plainly let his followers know that those that do the will of the Father ( look to Him) were as loved as his family

I do not know what motherbear says, but I do know what I read here on the "prayer threads "

Mary had no worth or value in herself. She has only that which the Father has given her .

Praise the giver of the gift not the recipient
