Thank you for the quotes, they are very inspiring.

Saints rarely, if ever, wrote anything with the purpose to lead the Baptist out of their state of confusion. Their intended audience was Catholic/Orthodox. Now, for 2000 years Catholics correctly understood Mary's role in redemption as a Mother of God and not God. Nothing in these quotes says otherwise. In fact, it is perfectly legitimate to substitute "The Church" for "Mary" and observe your confusion, if sincerely held, dissolve.
