Rick warren is gearing up to train a billion people, unbeknownst to many he has also been teamed up with New Age and contemplative promoter,Ken Blanchard, for some time now. According to a new biography on Rick Warren,A Life With A Purpose wrtten by George Mair,Rick Warren has solicited the services of Ken Blanchard to aid him to train leaders:"Rick taps the best and the most famous to help train church leaders to be like Jesus. he has hired Ken Blanchard...to come to saddleback to help train people how to be effective leaders."p.193

In light of knowing who Ken Blanchard is,this is shocking and devatating news for the Church!

There is countless evidence to show that Ken Blanchard sits on the New age/mystical/contemplative bandwagon.Blanchard believes in the benefits and use of mantra meditation, yoga and has no trouble borrowing from Buddism... http://lighthousetrailsresearch.com/Pressreleasekenblanchard.htm

I see you're taking a lot of splat for posting this. I, for one, am glad to have a heads up on it and will be looking around for more information on the subject in addition to the many links to be followed from your source link.

So let me get this straight, CDL: You're claiming that the Catholic Mass has no previous existing pagan influences and that you would expect that the continual re-sacrificing of the body and blood of the Lord Jesus Christ would stand as protection against Warren's "New Age" "paganism"?

Truly, the Reformation has come full circle when a dedicated Calvinist would defend the Mass just in order to take a swipe at an Evangelical on such spurious grounds.

Long time, no see! What brings you around to the Religion Forum (and to this thread, of all places), and after such a long absence?

Resty is here because i pingged her in an earlier comment Alex. It appears (although i could be wrong), that Restornu is the only LDS remaining on these boards. AS i made reference to the LDS in my comment, i felt it appropriate to ping her to the comment.

I don't know anything about this subject but thanks for the ping CDL...

Thank you for your kind words Restornu. i am considering posting an article on the subject of the diaprax that Lord_Calvinus has made reference to in his(?) post. It is a slightly different application of what is called the Delphi Technique, a method used to manipulate people. Many of it's applications are secular in nature, and very insidious. i believe you will find it familiar, as you have undoubtedly run into examples of it in your work, or in your daily life.

There are examples of the diaprax in the method which PDC/PDL congregations conduct their activities, particularly bible studies. i don't wish to paint with too broad a brush, but it has been my experience that most (but definately NOT all) PDC/PDL congregations use the technique.

While I've certainly had my share of scrapes with the LDS on FR, I'd be shocked if Resty was, indeed, the last one left.

Hope you are doing well, and that your health is good, Resty!

No, your observation is incorrect. Perhaps after you review this thread, you will reach a correct observation.

Truly, the Reformation has come full circle when a dedicated Calvinist would defend the Mass just in order to take a swipe at an Evangelical on such spurious grounds.

And where have i defended the Mass?

Perhaps if you read what i actually wrote, instead of what you BELIEVE i wrote, the confusion would be cleared up.

i still remain suprised that the PDC/PDL would gain a foothold in a denomination where the order of service is essentially "set in stone", such as the Roman Catholic Mass. In fact, until pro610 showed me the documentation in an earlier post, i didn't believe that such a thing existed. No comment was made on the validity of the Mass, and i stand by the Westminster Confession of Faith on that issue.

Here is something else to add to your Jung collection
The Rockefeller Connection
http://reformed-theology.org/html/issue07/apostle.htm

Here is another New Age guy that Ken Blanchard endorses
Robert White
Notice to the reference of "Purpose in Life"
scroll to Blanchard,s endorsement
http://www.balancepointinternational.com/store/lelbook.htm

Look at this World Broadcast Network,Its filled with every kind of occult,Buddhism, witchcraft people and organizations.
Notice that Robert White who I mentioned is listed in here(Scroll to the W,s)
http://www.newdimensions.org/audio-books/guest-links.html
also click on who are we.
Scary stuff.
Many of these people and organizations are tied to the Rockefeller foundation.

Why would PDL/PDC or any Christian organization be involved with Ken Blanchard!

The tentacles in all this run very deep and twisted.
Ken Blanchard and Rupert Murdoch(Warrens Publisher owner) are all on board with Bill Clinton,s Global Initiative
I will not be surprised if Warren joins in.

Your reading skills aside, what's really odd is that you would be so concerned about setting one set of false "gentile Christians" against another.

Yeah, that's right up there with the Democrats complaining about the "politics of personal destruction." If I were interested in setting other Christian groups against each other, I could just sit back, watch the self-destruction, and send you a thank-you note for doing my work for me later.

Speaking of poor reading skills, I have never said that "Gentile Christians" are false Christians. I've said you (personally) happen to be wrong on certain issues, and that you will continue to be wrong about them so long as you proceed from an anti-Hebrew foundation.

And where have i defended the Mass?

You said, quote, "One would think that due to the highly liturgical nature of a Catholic Mass that there would be no room for such innovations." That would imply that you prefer the Catholic Mass over Warren--which is not a position I would wish to have to defend, personally.

In other words, I was speaking to your inferred preference that Catholics remain in the Mass over learning from an Evangelical, not claiming that you were advocating the Mass in an of itself. Given the classical Reform position on the Mass, that seems somewhat out of balance to me.

If I've misunderstood you, I apologize. Please clarify then: Would you prefer that Catholics remain in the liturgical Mass alone, or that they learn somewhat from an Evangelical minister, even if said Evangelical is not a Calvinist?

I got out of a church where this guru of the month, purpose driven stuff was being pushed. My husband stayed there for six months longer than I did, and he just about was consumed by the EGO (in my opinion) of the preacher and his wife, who have been there for 15 yrs. and are entrenched. My husband was just gradually being run ragged. If this preacher said, "Jump, Please" my husband would say "How High" so long as he said "Please" in his most charming voice. Finally, it just became so consuming that I reached the point where I couldn't stand to see what was happening to US. (It is my feeling that this preacher decided he didn't like me and started browbeating me from the pulpit about having to quit his and his wife's "classes"). It almost seemed to me like there was some subconscious thought on their part that this "fat(I'm not as fat as her either), slow-talking, poorly educated, Southern woman" didn't fit into their agenda as well as some other woman paired with my husband might. . and my husband and I have been married 41 yrs. I just simply wouldn't allow "control freak" leaders to control things that weren't even scriptural. I quit his Sunday night "class" after two and a half years when he ran a series of classes on Islam with little or no Bible and then she set out to have us women buy "The Purpose Driven Life" by Warren and take up a day every week with us women for her "class" on that bit of ear candy. I bought the book, read part of it - and then balked on her - and boy did I pay for it - but I am free of that situation, thank the Lord. I had to work, my work got piled up and so I called it quits there since she apparently was so spoiled that she didn't understand the "I have to do statements on a regular basis or WE DON'T GET PAID!" concept. Plus, his blazing browbeatings Sunday after Sunday finally got me down to where I couldn't take it any more. She kept making noises about "yoga" and pushing visualization exercises in the "classes" I did attend. Ugh! Guess I shouldn't have gotten started on this. I guess the thing that made me the maddest was that he appeared not to mind driving a wedge between me and my husband. I've always been pretty much in submission to my husband, so I think he may have been shrewd enough to know it wouldn't make any difference in the amount of money that would still be going into his pocket from us if he ran me off.

These preachers who skilfully tie people's salvation to their coattails (in the person's mind) and then use shrewd psychology to keep "control" make me mad. (Make THEM mad, make GOD mad.) in other words since they are established as "men of God".

The problem is when people dismiss all of this Psychological brainwashing and visualization techniques as conspiracy or just helpful practices.
Once they do this they are deceived, this is exactly what satan wants and it,s even more dangerous when Priests,Ministers and Pastors dismiss or even worse borrow from it.

This stuff is everywhere even in our schools.
My daughter was taught to use visualization techniques in the 3rd grade,we also had a swim coach try and teach my other daughter about Karma.
I did not know it was bad at the time myself

Speaking of poor reading skills, I have never said that "Gentile Christians" are false Christians. I've said you (personally) happen to be wrong on certain issues, and that you will continue to be wrong about them so long as you proceed from an anti-Hebrew foundation.

Have you not stated that virtually all the church fathers, from Justin Martyr through Augustine, into the Reformation and beyond, have gotten the Jewish question wrong by betraying and denigrating the Jewish foundation (in your view) of the Christian religion, esp. as it relates to following the cultic laws of old covenant Israel?

If the apostles intended to preserve the Jewish roots, as you contend by your own personal practices, yet the church gathers within then next century interpreted their words as ending all the old covenant practices, how can you not call the result false? Certainly it is not true to your interpretation of the apostles. Certainly you must argue they did not properly exercise the keys of the kingdom given to the apostolic officer bearers and continuing in the ongoing teaching offices of the church.

Just take on example, sabbath observance. You say that "gentile Christians" worship on Sunday by their traditions, not by command of God. Yet God was very jealous of His worship. So much so that people died when they approached Him by their own traditions and sin (Num. 10:1ff; 1 Cor 11:30). It seems to me that this is a serious breech of God's prescription for how to approach Him. Does this not constitute a false religion?

Have I really misinterpreted all that you have said?

BTW, my position is not anti-Hebrew, it's anti-Judaizer. Like Paul I have no problem with Jews continuing to to follow their social customs. But Paul didn't take gentiles into the temple and have them circumcized, and teach them "voluntarily" to follow Jewish cultic laws as part of the Christian faith. That is the error I oppose, for it divides God'a people along racial lines.
