Rick warren is gearing up to train a billion people, unbeknownst to many he has also been teamed up with New Age and contemplative promoter,Ken Blanchard, for some time now. According to a new biography on Rick Warren,A Life With A Purpose wrtten by George Mair,Rick Warren has solicited the services of Ken Blanchard to aid him to train leaders:"Rick taps the best and the most famous to help train church leaders to be like Jesus. he has hired Ken Blanchard...to come to saddleback to help train people how to be effective leaders."p.193
In light of knowing who Ken Blanchard is,this is shocking and devatating news for the Church!
There is countless evidence to show that Ken Blanchard sits on the New age/mystical/contemplative bandwagon.Blanchard believes in the benefits and use of mantra meditation, yoga and has no trouble borrowing from Buddism... http://lighthousetrailsresearch.com/Pressreleasekenblanchard.htm

Clean your own house. The following is from the same web site where you got your anti-Warren baloney:

But I dare say that if any protetstant posted any of those articles on free republic they would be accused of being a Catholic Basher and would likely be suspended faster than you can say NOAA. (And you are too much of a newbie to know the significance of that word.)
So clean your own house before you come on here and tell us our house is dirty.
I have read through the thread and I know what some are you are doing, but your comment to him gave the impression that if one is born again they can't be in the Catholic church. I am sorry if you think I was off target. Too many Protestants want to say that there are not true believers in the Catholic church and your post could easily be interepreted that way - more so than not. I was just trying to point that out. btw - I am not a Catholic, but a strong evangelical fundamentalist.
are you threatening me
No,I was just pointing out that this angry self-centered part of me does not exist anymore.
Go fix the Catholic Church or join a Protestant church. In the meantime let the Protestants decide how or where they will worship.
My favorite preacher is the late Dr Martyn Lloyd Jones,he was a Calvinist.
Then join a Calvinist Church and become a Calvinist. Profess your fielty to the Westminster Confession. JOIN A CHURCH. I'm sure you will be welcome with open arms.
In the meantime I don't think you have any credibility on the Rick Warren issue since you are obviously a heretic in Catholic circles (just ask JohnRoss) and you are not a Protestant. You have no dog in this hunt. Yet you fire off volleys against Rick Warren and those who enjoy his books like you are on a Blitzkrieg offensive.
After you choose a religion, then come back and feel free to suggest improvments to whichever religion you are committed to preserving. In the meantime I'd suggest you spend a little more time deciding what they heck you are before you tell others what they ought to believe and how they ought to worship.
I did not even use the words "born again" or even discuss that subject with him at all. The part in italics is a quote from his post on which I'm commenting.
My comment had nothing at all to do with being born again.
Therefore, I don't know where you're coming from, so you're going to have to explain it to me. Thanks ahead of time.
Also, see #224
I reread your comment and although I can now see what I think you meant, it is still a viable impression that you come across the way that I first read it - that is, that you were in a roundabout way comparing being born again vs being Catholic. That one was either one, or the other - you can't be both.
Whether or not you meant to doesn't change the fact that that is one way to understand your post. And if you can't understand that it could be taken a different way than you said it, I don't know how to explain it differently. And I am not sure it is worth the time to try. But once again, I will apologize if my pointing that out has caused you to react in any way that does not glorify the Lord. Not that I think you did, but if you did, that wasn't my intent, nor is it now.
And I really have no desire to delve into what you are P-Marlow are trying to do to discredit pro610 because I do not agree with the tactic. And I certainly am not going to engage with either of you on it or anything on this thread. Been there, done that. I just don't see any Godly reason why.
Please at least show me a post on this thread in which I discuss being born again. To my knowledge I have not discussed it with pro610...or with any catholic for that matter.
"Christians don,t borrow from eastern mysticism."
Why not?
Why wouldn't a Christian "borrow" other useful practices, methods, etc.?
I recall reading that many Christian practices, had roots in previous religious symbology.
So if Christianity borrowed, why could not a Christian?
The one that started this whole conversation between us - your post 204. It was how you quoted him. It can be taken as I first took it. But this just is not worth the time to continue.
I didn't question his being born again. I asked him what diocese he was part of.
I would question his being born again because he's a Catholic. I don't believe that Catholics cannot be born again, so I would never allude to such a thing in the first place.
