"Lord of the Dance..."

Don't you just love it when agnostic Anglicans write songs inspired by Hindu godesses? The use of this song by everyone from Unitarians to Catholics is a classic example of willful and pervasive general ignorance in American religious life.

Although within the last year I ran across a charismatic mega-church on TV that was going one better. They were singing, as a "praise and worship" chorus (with a pulsating rock 'n roll band in accompaniment) the refrain from the old Beatles tune: "Come together, right now, over me..."

Gave me the creeps...

Ratzinger observed that rock'n'roll is the antithesis of Christianity (or words to that effect.)

I LOVE telling my kids' grade school teachers that factoid; one of them is a mind-numbed "Christian" rock dipso (who also doesn't understand momentum in elementary physics...)
