Of course it does and always has, it is biblical. If the message in Akita was not consistent with Church teaching, Cardinal Ratzinger would not have approved it as worthy of belief.

I seem to remember hearing somewhere about ten plagues that God forced both directly and indirectly (through Moses) on Egypt in order to force the Pharoah to rethink his obstinacy.

Does the Church still teach that those plagues happened and that God set them upon the Egyptians?
