4CJ, when you sold your house was it wrong for you and your family to profit from that sale, because your family is Christian? Was it unAmerican? Did you take advantage of the buyer?
Because you sold the house the IRS investigated your claims on your tax forms. Is the implication you are a crook?
Thankfully you are not rich and to be envied =-)
Your post was addressed to me as well.
If I sell my house and profit from it, it has nothing to do with whether I am a Christian or not. Tax status has everything to do with the instance cited concerning Joyce Meyers.
It was church property and exempt from capitol gains tax and used solely by her family members. I would have to pay taxes if I sold a house that was not my primary residence and made a profit on it.
She can fleece her flock to her hearts content and as long as they are willing to shell out I have no problem with it.The flock being willing participants, it's their business.
If she's evading taxes then it is my business because she is cheating me too. Notice, that I said "if she is" The whole arrangement should be investigated.
I'm one of those eviiiil Christians. ;o)
Thankfully you are not rich and to be envied =-)
I started with nothing, and still have most of it left.
