They used different embalmers. The Vatican did not make an official announcemnt either way, but the media mentioned his body was touched up a few times during the week.

Would you care to explain how his body did not smell or decompose for over a week? Is this the next phase in the JPII instant canonization campaign?

He looked embalmed to me, and there was no way he would not swell and darken by day six if he was not embalmed. I've seen embalmed bodies swell after six days.

Maybe the Vatican's just pulling a fast one, which it's known to do, from time to time on stuff like this.

Well, we all know that God is not allowed to preserve the body of one of his children incorrupt unless Canticle_of_Deborah gives Him permission, right?
