I believe that what was said was not actually the Litany of the Saints. but the "Ordo Commendationis Animae" (Order of Commending the Soul). This ritual begins with a series of invocations that sound like the Litany of the Saints (and yes, they do invoke particular saints and groups thereof). The ritual goes on to include a long series of orations. In structure, it is very similar to the Litany of the Saints, but the OCA is a distinct, liturgical set of prayers specifically assigned to be prayed at the time of death.

Thank you, but that particular commendation isn't what was prayed. It could have been a reformulation of it for this occasion, or a special Pontifical version, and I will follow up on that. I appreciate your pointing me in this direction.
