I'm guessing that her comments about conversion are based in her Christian roots. Christians believe that it is their duty to proselytize "the truth"...or to "offer salvation" to the world. Once I no longer believed in what the church teaches, it was difficult, at first, for me to understand why the Jews weren't out and about proclaiming their truth too...just as the Christians were. Why didn't they want to "save" everyone like the Christians did? That type of thinking doesn't go away overnight.

Evidently not. It appears I've been mistaken in my assumption that the fact that Jews don't proselytize is common knowledge.
