"DON'T LET THEM WATCH TELEVISION."

Jeff, that is an unrealistic option. Do you have children? How are you going to control them when they are at friends or when you aren't home?

Regards

By not watching TV yourself.

I watch station EWTN and TMC. Sometimes I watch History or Discovery depending on the show. The Weather Channel is not bad and an occasional sporting event.

It is just my wife and myself. Our grandkids are well trained by their parents to keep TV to a minimum.

We control our pleasures and our kids will have control also.

It starts with us.

We've raised two and are raising a third child. We limit and restrict our children's television watching. No trash allowed on the tube in our home, and that includes most sitcoms. No profane music allowed, either. I'm sure they are tempted away from home; they are human. Resisting temptation is a part of learning self-discipline.

I still believe that eliminating TV from the home would result in a net gain in family intelligence.
