The primates were “out for blood,” Bishop Griswold told them.Nice to know that Frank believes in the devil, whatever he perceives that to be. I suppose that to a vacuous liberal airhead like him, the devil looks an awful lot like George W. Bush. But who were the demonic forces Frank had in mind?

Not present during the Presiding Bishop’s remarks, Bishop Duncan was allowed a point of personal privilege at the evening session on March 13 to respond to the Presiding Bishop’s charges. Bishop Duncan told the House of Bishops he had not manipulated the global south primates nor used nefarious means to influence their deliberations. After Bishop Duncan finished, the Bishop of New Hampshire, the Rt. Rev. V. Gene Robinson, rose and stated he did not believe Bishop Duncan, and repeated the charges of inappropriate meddling that had been leveled by the Presiding Bishop.I'm not sure how Frank's valet knew that since he wasn't at the meeting. Good yes-bishop that he is, I guess Robbie just took Frank's word for it. But let's see where we are. The Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church of the United States of America publicly associated six Episcopalians with Satan. Gene Robinson publicly called Bob Duncan a liar. Next year's General Convention should be a bloodbath. Assuming there are any conservatives left in ECUSA next year.

Okay, so let me get this straight. The Presiding Bishop appears to have rather brutally denounced several prominent conservative Episcopalians, including a rather important and prominent bishop. A bishop, who, from my perspective, has gone quite far to preserve the communion within the ECUSA.
Isn't that sort of an invitation to Bishop Duncan not to let the door hit him in the you-know-where on the way out? Am I missing something? I thought Anglicans are supposed to be polite to those whom they hate.
And Vicky Gene got up and "dittoed" him.

Is Grizzie just so incensed that he lost it? Maybe to regain control of that demonic rage, later on? Do a little kiss-and-make-up (maybe he's practicing with Vicky Gene)?
Or does he not care that in denouncing Bishop Duncan, he practically invites complete and formal schism WITHIN the ECUSA?
It seems to me, at this early stage of things, that the Grizzies may have more or less decided not only not to back down, but to go on the offensive (emphasis on giving offense), damn the torpedoes, full steam ahead, come schism or high water!
As always, I'm interested in your thoughts, and of other Anglicans/Episcopalians about this.

They over-reached themselves this time. Their previous victories made them cocky. But as some earlier posts indicate, any message to slam on the brakes hasn't gotten through to (or been received by) all the troops. The slow-motion trainwreck continues.

ten years ago I attended a communion service -10 AM- at ST Gregory in the Chicago diocese. It was clear from the woman lead service that the devil had control of this parish. They had changed the Lord's Prayer to some type of PC blessing and held a sunday school sharing program as part of something around the time when "passing the Peace" might have occured. Guess who was the Bishop of Chicago during this time? The end time is in the ECUSA and it started many many years ago.
I wonder how the folks in the ELCA car are doing. They're part of this train through Called to Common Mission (CCM). They share bishops (actually, ELCA bishops are lesser, not being part of the Historic Episcopate). And, there are now joint ECUSA-ELCA churches.
I know. I left 22 years ago.
I don't think anyone in ELCA is paying attention. It's as if someone on that run-away train hollered, "Hey! Look over there!" While they're looking out the windows on the left side at the lovely passing scenery, the rest of us can clearly see hell's fires out the right side windows.
