Fundamentalists decry the trend toward Christian psycho-therapy being used to "understand" sin and also its use as a tool to help sinners to forgive themselves. As it is not for us to forgive ourselves, but to ask Him for forgiveness, I can understand where they are coming from. But, as many fundamentalists also do not accept malfunction in the brain as possibly being responsible for some behaviors which are sinful, I have to respectfully disagree with their rant against ALL psycho-therapy.

That being said, this article is extremely good and gives great insight into what has happened in the past 40 years. Rather than emphasizing the Word of God, the emphasis has been on the feelings of human beings. This is dangerous as it has had the effect of watering down scripture to give it a warm, fuzzy, politically-correct "feel" so as not to offend anyone. It is no longer about what He said, but about how we FEEL about what He said.
