The Painting is Raphael's "deathbed" work from the early 1600's. It was his last before he died at the age of 37.
It hangs in the Vatican museum.

This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased: hear ye Him.Surely one of the most important verses in the bible.

Thanks again.
I've found a source on the 'net for excerpts from
The Liturgical Year by Dom Guéranger:
Catholic Haven.
Most Sundays are there (the Fifth and Sixth Sundays after Epiphany aren't on the site, neither is Septuagesima Sunday) along with some holydays of obligation (Christmas, the Circumcision, the Epiphany, the Immaculate Conception, and Ascension Thursday, but not All Saints).
I'm about to post here Dom Guéranger's comments on the Second Sunday in Lent. More, specifically his comments on the Propers of the Second Sunday of Lent, is at
Catholic Haven, Second Sunday of Lent.

Leave it to you to find this excellent site.
I put a link to it on the AQ links page.

It has been a while since I have been to a Tridetine Rite Mass, so if my question is ignorant, my apologies. There is only one reading before the homily at the Mass? I saw Thessalonians and the Gospel, but no OT, is that standard?
God Bless

Most times there are only two readings: from an Epistle and from the Gospel, for the particular Sunday.
There are exceptions, of course. Yesterday, for example, was Ember Saturday, and there were
'[f]ive lessons, an epistle, a canticle, and the Gospel reading.' Last Wednesday and Friday (also Ember days), there were extra readings.
And there are more readings during Holy Week.

p.s. Being a contrarian and frequently cranky, I call it the sermon, and not the homily. [The Homily on the Mount ... < rolls eyes>]
To: Mike Fieschko
I'd prefer a sermon every now and then. I want some fire and brimestone. I have to come here for my red meat. :(

It is customary (though not mandatory) to read the Epistle and Gospel in the vernacular. The interchangable OT parts are in Latin and largely adoration, prayers for mercy and thanksgiving from Psalms et al.

Ok, I'm just used to the Novus Ordo model of Old Testament, Psalm, NT, Gospel for the readings. The more scripture the better I think :) Now just need to work on the whole reverence thing.

the Novus Ordo model of Old Testament, Psalm, NT, Gospel for the readings. The more scripture the better I think. That's the horizontal Protestant "service" or "Sunday school" model, one of the reasons why the NO was created.
The only reason why Protestants are showing up on Sundays to have someone preach at them is because they've carried on with a disfigured version of what used to be the Catholic Mass.
The Mass actually started out as processions to various areas to distribute the Eucharist to new catechumans and the faithful, before there were mechanisms put in place to offer daily and weekly Mass. The primary intention being a vertical communion with the Lord as opposed to any substantial religious instruction. Education was done through the catechism and other avenues.
