As a Rabbi in Alabama, I have found no basis in the Scriptures allowing a new Sanhedrin being established any where. Things such as this and "Moses Seat" must be commanded by Yahweh. Same thing about the selling or giving away of Yisraeli land for peace. Yisrael belongs to Yahweh not to us Hebrews. You can go to Yair Davidy"s website and find out who the modern day Hebrew Yisraelites are.
Where in the scriptures did it say they would ever go away? Just wondering...
I am very interested in what you think about this being a Rabbi.

They can still re-build the Temple? that is there intention..
Calling yourself "rabbi" no more makes you so than my calling myself 'Napoleon' makes me emperor of France.
If you don't mind, I'd like to ask a question: my reading of Scriptures portrays the Jews of old to be led by a priestly class, whose priesthood was associated with their tribe - the Levites. In modern times, I see Rabbis who apparently enter their calling due to interest and education, rather than by some hereditary role. The ancient priests seem to me to fulfill a ceremonial role, whereas most Rabbis I hear about are basically fulfilling an educational, "pastoral" role.
Can you explain what happened and why?
I don't mean any disrespect in asking this - it's just something that I have been wondering about for a while. I have several close Jewish friends but they don't seem inclined to discuss much about it.
As an Old Testament fundamentalist (a non-Jewish Jew, as it were) a quote from the Gospel Of Thomas (not so oddly) comes to mind:
His disciples said to Him: When will the Kingdom come?
Jesus said: It will not come by expectation; they will not say: "See here", or "See there". But the Kingdom of the Father is spread upon the earth and men do not see it.
