I am not free from all sin, however when I am prayed up and going about my day praying and sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, I am righteous. In Gods eyes I am righteous. If I allow the devil to use the desires of my heart to drive me then I may sin. Remember, whatever is not faith is sin. Jeremiah said the heart of a man is desperately wicked deceitful above all things, and that is true. When an evil thought comes up in a persons heart, they usually (if they are religious) think the devil put that there. The truth is it is in your heart and God may be bringing it up in order to deliver you from that, but you can't deny its there. You have to confess it to God and ask him to deliver you from it.
I daily confront the wickedness in my heart. Jesus said call no man good but the Father. Jesus knew the flesh of man is incapable of "being good". I drive alot during the day and I worship God all the time and I fight the desires of my own will, intellect and emotions.Let me say this though, if I get tired and put on the radio or whatever it can take minutes and my mind is off God and on my own desires and thats when its easy to get into sin.
Do you know I have used the F-word in prayer before? If business is slow and I need money, God will let me sit and sulk until I show some courage and faith. I have no problem shouting to God " Are you up there?! Do you know I am down here and need to pay my bills?! You're the one who owns all the gold send me some now !! I am sick of this sh*&t! What the F is going on?!!"
He knows thats whats in my heart, to give him some slick sweet prayer would get me nowhere. I know this from experience walking it out. You know what? This type of prayer works because because my money comes and my faith is strengthened. Today I can believe longer than I could two years ago, I go faith to faith, strength to strength glory to glory. I expect glory and honor from God because he said I would have it if I believed.
I don't know the Gnostics, I just decided to take the Bible as its written. If I have to listen to 10 different mens interpretations then forget it. Everyone will be taught of God.
I have learned this from walking it out over many years and have been humbled by God many times and will no doubt continue to be perfected. Its painful to the pride but it reaps rewards of God.
