There are at least two to 4 cases of very major prophets where that did not happen.

One example is in Isaiah 38, when he told King Hezekiah that he was going to die ( chaphter 38 : verse 1 ) And in verse 2 , King Hezekiah turned his face towards GOD and prayed, and then in verse 3 Isaiah came back to King Hezekiah and told him that GOD heard his prayers and seen his tears : behold I ( the LORD ) will add 15 years to his life. II Chronicles 32 : 24 - 26 , II Kings 20:1 - 11 .
