A reader writes in to alert us that John Carroll University, a Catholic college in Cleveland is referring students who have been sexually assaulted to a pro-abortion group, according to an official student manual.
Counseling: Students who have experienced a sex offense may receive free and confidential counseling at the University Counseling Center (216-397-4283) and/or the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center (216-619-6192). Other John Carroll University members may receive free and confidential referrals at the Counseling Center and confidential counseling at the Rape Crisis Center.The Cleveland Rape Crisis Center is a member of the Freedom of Choice Cleveland Coalition.
Say a student is raped, she finds out she is pregnant, and she is referred to the rape crisis center. What do you suppose they will advise her to do? I'm doubting they'll refer to a crisis pregnancy center.
By the way, last year, JCU got into hot water over the performance of the "V Monologues" on campus. The funds raised by the performance were to go to a "charity". Do you know what that "charity" was? Yep, the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center.
A Catholic university referring students for counseling to a group that will have no compunction about telling them to get abortions. Not good.

Over 1,000 e-mails poured into University President Rev. Edward Glynn’s inbox last weekend, and they weren’t all valentine greetings.
These e-mails came from people all over the nation, expressing fierce opposition to last weekend’s production of “The Vagina Monologues.”
According to Glynn and chair of the Communications Department Sister Mary Ann Flannery, the e-mails detailed opposition to the production’s controversial content being displayed on a Catholic university’s campus.
These e-mails were generated, according to Glynn and Flannery, through efforts made by the Cardinal Newman Society.
This society is an ultra-conservative Catholic group, based in Virginia, said Flannery, who was in charge of the monologues.
The e-mails also contained objections to a portion of the production’s proceeds being given to the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center, a member of the pro-choice Freedom of Choice Cleveland Coalition.
Since those e-mails were received, the University made the decision to revoke the funds being given to the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center…
