In regards to the book of Revelation, if someone hasn't already posted it, someone will eventually post that the events of Revelation took already took place in 70 A.D.
I always found it interesting when talking with people that think this way. They feel that much of the book of Revelation was closed long ago. Hank Hanegraaff (a,k,a, the Bible Answer Man) holds this view (thought to his credit he doesn't believe that this is an issue to divide over), and claims that these writtings clearly show that Nero was the Beast, and that Revelation would have brough great comfort to christians persecuted during those times.
My personal belief is that those who do not study history do not learn from history. It doesn't matter if Revelation was writtin prior to 70 A.D. or after (as many believe that John didn't pen Revelation until sometime around 90 A.D.). Those who do not learn from history will repeat the errors of history.
My persoanl thought is that we may not know the exact time, and anyone who places a year/date/time is a fool. Yet the Bible tells us that we who are watching will not be in the dark, and will see the signs coming. I believe that Christs' return is very close, and could happen before I even post this message. At the same time, I think that was the way the early christians felt also.

The reason I think that we are near in the time of Jesus's return is because JESUS PROMISED TO RETURN WHEN THE GOSPEL HAS BEEN PREACHED ALL OVER THE EARTH, I THINK WE ARE IN THAT TIME.
