"The Catholic church in its practice has become more and more Protestant and the Protestants haven't budged an inch."
"Catholic version of Dr. Schuller's Hour of Power"
LOL!
I recently had to sing for a Catholic-Lutheran ecumenical service. Our priest and bishop were the hosts. There was not so much as a sign of the cross made in order not to offend the Protestants. Yet, when a Lutheran bishop made a statement challenging our beliefs about the Eucharist, our priest and bishop sat there like bumps. It's the last ecumenical service I will attend.

It really felt like I was not in a Catholic Church. And at least with Dr. Schuller (whom I have nothing against) you get good guests like Norman Schwarzkopf (sp?).
The only thing we got was an altar traversing homily by the 'pastoral associate', (not a 'valid' move, I'm told) in her crisp British accent dispensing nothing too controversial. And the Priest walking hand in hand with her down the aisle joking that that wasn't in the GIRM.
In the first 5 or 10 minutes of the Mass I was overcome by the desire to 'flee', but I told myself I was overreacting, so I stuck it out.
