I've read your positions on this thread and in my opinion you're right. There is no "in between" there is only God's word on this, period.

I feel there are some really good women on this thread who love the Lord with all their heart who want to serve. But we can't be PC about this. So I'm not trying to be uncaring about this. But we have to obey our Father in heaven. I just feel some women love the Lord so much, and want to serve, but they are doing it in the wrong capacity. People interpret the Bible to fit their own needs sometimes, not the Lords. No matter how much a person may "need" something, it doesn't make it the right thing. Scripture just can't be changed to fill an individuals "needs".

There "is" a roll for women. Like you said it is to "testify" and yes, to teach. They can teach children in homes, Sunday Schools and other places and ways. By testifying to others, and by doing so "teaching" others. But not at the pulpit as you have so aptly stated. The Bible couldn't be clearer on this subject.

Thanks for being one of the voices of reason in this discussion. The Bible can't be changed to be ""PC"". Other groups of individuals have tried to do the same. It is destroying entire groups of churches. Like you said, there was no Bible during the time the disciples walked the earth, but there were the words of the Disciples, and we have them now in the written word to follow. Praise God!

God works by his annointing - not by gender. He has annointed great women to do great things for His kingdom in the past and He will continue to annoint them to do great things for His kingdom in the future.

Thanks for your words of encouragement. I know I'm sounding like some male chauvinist who must go home at the end of the day and have my wife rub my feet and feed me dinner while I watch TV.

This is a narrow, fine point of doctrine but I think it’s very important that we be precise. There are many wonderful women on this site and in my life who have provided me with great insight and help-and yes-they have taught me a great many truths. But God is very specific in His word about the roles of women and men in conducting the affairs of the church.

It should be noted this isn’t much different then God instructing the Jews that only the Levites could serve in His service and out of the Levites only the descendants of Aaron could enter the Holy of Holies. At one time when Korah decided other Levites are equally qualified and should be able to enter the Holy of Holies God slewed them (Num 16). Jeroboam appointed non-Levites to serve as his priests.

God has not changed. In tracing the corruption of Israel/Judah one issue that is predominate in scripture is the corruption of their worship. When King Josiah found the holy text sealed in an inner room and read it to the people, the people wept for they recognized how far they had strayed. Today we treat worship far more cavalier than we should.
