I bought an MP3 of scores of Spurgeons sermons. I love listening to them.

Charles H. Spurgeon is considered a successful and "safe" example of a "non-theological" ministry.

A true statement, but he was a preacher and a theologian.

You can listen on to readings of some of Charles Spurgeon's sermons at Spurgeon.org, or Sermonaudio.com. You can download the mp3 file onto your computer if you want.

So when Spurgeon says

"The doctrine of justification itself, as preached by an Arminian, is nothing but the doctrine of salvation by works"

you have no problem with that?

Ah. More interminable Calvinist arguing. Type 2E.3.75 thinks type 2E.3.74 is a heretic, I suppose.

Do I like him?

I've never been a reader of him.

I've read a few sermons in their entirety. (I agree with him on premillennialism.)

I've read the quotes that you all post.

From what I know, I like a few things, disagree with a few things, and who knows about the rest.

I have the "Treasury of David", in 3 Volumes, by Spurgeon. When I want to study a Psalm in depth, it's the first place I go. Besides the exposition, he includes "Explanatory notes & Quaint Sayings" as well as "Hints to Preachers". He definitely had a shepherd's heart.

What part of his premillennialism do you like? He was a historicist.
