One needs to be careful to remember the history of the Klan. At this point in time the Klan was just evolving into the anti-black organization it is known as today. Earlier it had been primarily an anti-Catholic group.
Catholics had very large families and were largely reviled. Signs reading "No Bare Feet, No Dogs, No Catholics" were not uncommon, at least in the northeast, where Italian and Irish immigrants were pouring in.
Sanger's message could have been received as warmly for it's appeal to Catholics haters as for it's appeal to blacks haters.

Like I've said, 4CJ, the war among the states, at its roots, was the religion that dominated the NE section of this nation, [and has taken over this forum] usurping the power from that a fraternal organization had in the SE section of the USA....
Truths are for the most part blatantly simple, my friend. Go to Spain on a religious holiday and compare what the actors wear to what the Klan wore...
