"In closing, I would like to state the conclusions I have drawn concerning the attempt to find numerological patterns and numerically exact predictions within the Scriptures. The God of the Bible is also the God of creation. The Bible is the product of His inspiration; and so are the heavens and the earth. He does not tuck little secret coded messages in atomic radiation or the arrangement of the planets. To look for such is to miss the point. God's glory is declared in the heavens (Psalm 19:1-6). His glory is clearly seen in what He has made (Romans 1:20). The artist's genius is evident in the composition of his painting, not in minute patterns in the brushstrokes. This is true of God's creation - and it is also true of His Word, the Holy Scriptures. The master artist's work gives evidence for itself - the artist does not even need to sign it. A signature can be forged, but a true masterpiece cannot be duplicated." (Signature or Forgery? An open letter to Grant Jeffrey, author of "The Signature of God")

How does this fit with Proverbs 25:2 "It is the Glory of God to conceal a thing...?"

Scripture is filled with treasure, everywhere. All the lifetimes of men, devoted to the apprension of scripture have not yet exausted the treasure it contains. It is indeed hidden for us to find, and we have honor in that task. Who could presume that we have found more than a small fraction of it? How much gold in this world is yet to be mined?

I disagree here. A trained eye can always spot a forgery. There is always something different. But even if God did not need to sign his work, does that mean he didn’t? Interesting concept, God doing something he didn’t need to do, I wonder if that could apply to the cross. The fact is that God did sign his work. Every atom, every molecule has a number associated with it. Those patterns of 3’s, 7’s, 10’s and several others are in the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, every single page.

E.g., why did Grant have to rearrange the books of the Bible to come up with the number 63?

Evidently, in the original version, Samuel, Kings, and Chronicles were one book each and split later. My Hebrew Bible has chapter and verse so they are split. Still, it should be easy to check.

My friend, there is a blessing in scripture for everyday for the rest of your life. Don’t miss any if them.

Thanks, topcat, for the wonderful link.

All we need to know is contained within the Scriptures. It's foolish to look for clues to answer the wrong questions.
