Hi Mary,

I am talking mainly about the Nag Hammadi library and some other early gnostic Christian writings (e.g. the Gospel of Mary Magadelene.) Here are a couple of links that might be good places to start:

http://www.gnosis.org/library/gs.htm

It is also interesting to keep in mind that there is not a universally accepted canon - there are disagreements even today among various branches of Chrisitanity regarding the legitimacy of certain writings.

I think that for ALMOST ANY group of authentically devout Christians, the Canon is a decided issue with largely smaller groups with long standing traditions; the Roman church; etc. being exceptions.

The best Greek text is, to my understanding, not really in question.

Quibbling over minor things by minor and/or very tradition bound groups is not my notion of how best to get and walk closer to God.
