Many people are spirit-filled without being a pentecostal type. Methodism isn't a pentecostal type church but there are many spirit-filled Methodists. Don't paint us all with such a broad brush, topcat.
Actually, as I recall, Methodism started out very Pentecostal.
YOUR SONS AND DAUGHTERS SHALL PROPHECY has a chapter outlining how all organizations/groups--including churches--become institutionalized and essentially dead compared to the founding version. The sources there cite it taking 25 years. I've seen it happen in a lot less time.
It takes some incredibly sharp leadership to keep Holy Spirit and GOD at the center of the organizations priorities and meetings.
I pray for God's passion for His priorities. I think we all need that. Man's priorities are in charge of RELIGION in every denomination. Some individuals are more seduced into that mentality than others--in every denomination.
