Speaking of evidence, there is none indicating any ongoing "prophets" in the Church. The so-called "prophets" of today has a less that biblical (100%) accuracy rate. Either that or they are so generic that they are useless from a practical standpoint.
You can't have it both ways. You can't say "tradition" has closed the Canon while arguing against the "tradition" that says prophets are no more.
I think you have a real hard time with the historical record.
I didn't say anything about TRADITION, BTW.
You seem to be the one wedded to traditions of men.
God closed the Canon. That's evident by the statements of Believers within 30-40 years of the events.
The Historical record as well as Scripture indicates quite clearly enough for the fairminded child, even, that prophetic inputs and other Corinthians 12-14 mentioned gifts were operating throughout the historical record and certainly in the early church post closing of the Canon and passing of the disciples etc.
I hope to get some of the sources posted in the next couple of weeks. But it's not really my responsibility to bail anyone out of willfully ignoring the historical record.
