The point is, respond to what? The "prophecy" is most likely a fake. You can't see then even with your superior gift of "discernment".
The prophecy is highly likely authentic.
Your bias born blindnesses hide many clues from you.
But, it may be that this situation is like a lot God set up.
He deliberately blinded the arrogant pharisees who were convinced they had this theology thing ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL figured out. Probably a similar thing going on here.
