From what I remember, these beings were NOT created in the image of God... i.e. they were intelligent, but were not triunal beings such as we are... kind of like extremely intelligent animals comprised of a physical body and a spirit... so they were not held with the same affection or chance at salvation as we are... once the body was dead, there was only the spirit... no sole there to save.

Supernatural powers, ability to travel from planet to planet, God created them to run things.
I doubt He would have restricted the methods and powers required to run a universe.
Satan told God he had been walking up and down "in the Earth", when God asked him where he'd been.
