Thanks for pinging me to this - I think :D. A link would have been better - the whole text runs 21 pages, 15,000 words when cut-and-pasted into MS Word.

Boy, Rev. F. E. Pitts can sure bloviate, can't he? You have to read roughly 3000 words before he even introduces his main argument, which concludes with the declaration that The United States is actually the re-gathered Nation of Israel!

I've managed to skim through about half of the post (yes, I'm a fast reader), and it'll take some time for to digest his whole argument before I can fully respond. My immediate reaction is to consider this portion suspect, especially the bolded portions as they are the key portions to his dating argument. He does not explain why they "require" more time or are "symbolic" weeks that allow him to add even more time in. Maybe I missed that part of the text in my skimming, but I suspect it's not there....

Now the explanation of the matter is simple: the 70 weeks are Hebrew weeks of years, or 490 years. But these are abbreviated weeks; that is, they require the addition of one or more kinds of sacred time to complete them. By adding the sabbatic days which would be in 490 years, we have 560 years. These are symbolic years of 360 parts; and as a symbolic year may stand for any Hebrew year of years, it may stand for the one of 364. Then we have the equation of time, as 360: 364 - 560: 566 2/9.

These 566 2/9 years are composed of 364 days each; and by reducing them to solar time of 365 days, 5 hours, 48 minutes, and 47 1/10 seconds to the year, we have 564 years and 109 days, as the fulfillment exhibits.

I noticed that too. No explanation for the addition of prophetic time periods, that is, no scriptural authority for such addition.

He quotes only part of Revelation 12:17, leaving out why the dragon was wroth with the woman....and

"That rock is Christ" (anyway).
