One thing I believe Catholics AND Baptists agree on is that baptism is necessary for salvation...age is where they vary.
Catholics baptize infants. SOME Protestant churches baptize infants, some don't. I didn't think the "age of accountability" had anything to do with baptism.
Baptism is necessary for salvation?
I guess the thief in the Cross was lied to by Christ.
I don't know of any Baptist church that teaches that. I attended one for years and know many, many lifelong Baptist that can give great apologetics on why that is a false doctrine.
No, and again, no. Baptists may be called Baptists--but at no point do we believe that baptism is necessary for salvation. It is only an outward gesture of an inward decision.
Salvation is that moment whereby we realize our sinfulness is removed by Jesus's sacrifice, and accept it as a gift freely given for which we have done nothing (including being baptized) to earn. Then, we try to be worthy, for which we will inevitably fail.
I am not Catholic, but I don't believe they belive that it is necessary, either. But I can't speak for them...
Baptists don't believe baptistism is necessary for salvation.
You are wrong about that.
