As a biblical Christian devoted to the scriptures and the truth inherent therein.... Please understand me and hear me on this...
Before I forget, it is Truth, with a capital 't'. With all due respect to your self-proclaimed 'title' wgeorge, you're ignoring a part of Truth, and that is that Jesus never commanded that the Apostles write anything down, nor did He do so himself. He called us TO DO... proof enough that Sacred Tradition matters.
"Sacred Tradition and Sacred Scripture make up a single sacred deposit of the Word of God . . ." (Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraph 97. Note, all citations in this article are from this Catechism). The Catholic Church reasons thus:
1. "The apostles left bishops as their successors. They gave them 'their own position of teaching authority.'" (Paragraph 77)
2. "This living transmission, accomplished through the Holy Spirit, is called tradition..." (Par. 78)
3. "Both Scripture and Tradition must be accepted and honored with equal sentiments of devotion and reverence." (Par. 82).
If your
mission is to evangelize -- apparently --
against the one, holy, catholic, apostolic Church -- perhaps you'd do well to KNOW ABOUT that which you speak against. I'd recommend your reading start
here, Catechism of the Catholic Church - Table of Contents, and NOT Jack Chick. If you do not want the FACTS to get in the way of a 'good argument', you can carry on with your own personal interpretation of 'things'.
FReegards.
