If God wants as many people as possible to be saved, how could numbers *not* matter.
It did sound rather silly when he said that.
What kind of weed are they smoking? Maybe it is just prescription medication.
We need to pray for a miracle. The current state of affairs is beyond human solution.
God cares about the large numbers of people, and He also cares deeply about the saving of only one soul.
**change in the manner that Lenins minority of followers did in Russia**
This comparison is absurd!
As usual, you schismatics are attacking the Pope and Cardinal Ratzinger, orthodox leaders of the Church, rather than liberal dissidents within the Church. Once again, you have shown that all you care about is bringing down and destroying the Catholic Church, rather than building it up on the basis of sound doctrine and good order. You are not helping the situation, but merely making it worse, which I guess is your intention anyway.
Your beloved CCPA Church is schismatic, for your information.
I don't deny it. CCPA, SSPX -- much of a muchness...
Then why did you assist at their "masses"?
If the SSPX liturgy were the only one available of a Sunday I might assist there to, but not take communion, as I would not with the CCPA.
The Pope is not orthodox. Rather, he is liberal and dissents from Cathotlic tradition and Canon law:
"On April 6, 1997, he recited the Credo without the Filioque on the occasion of the 1700th anniversary of the Constantinople I Council and on oecumenical occasions. (Eastern Catholic Life)
"In 1998, he gave communion, at a private Mass in the Vatican, to the late Rev. Sheila Brown, who had only shortly before been ordained an Anglican priestess and who, at that Mass, wore her "Roman" collar.
"In 1999, he gave communion to several Lutheran bishops who were his guests during a mass in the pope's private chapel in the Vatican. (London Tablet)"

The Pope is fully orthodox. He has taught no heresy. As for the first, omitting the Filioque is not the same thing as saying that the Filioque is wrong, after all, the original text adopted at Nicaea and Constantinople Councils did not have the Filioque. As for the others, I view them as scurrilous rumors, don't know if true or the full contexst, and even if they were true, errors of judgment or even sins do not justify disobedience to lawful authority in the Church.
He teaches Catholics and Muslims worship the same "god".
Moslems simply misunderstand God's true nature. Scripture teaches that even pagans can have glimpses of the True God. The Pope does not teach heresy.
Neither, do they justify calling him "orthodox".
Chirac is not a spokesman of the magisterium. And the Pope has said that humanity cannot be understood apart from Christ and His incarnation as a human. The world is better if the dignity of every human being, including the unborn fetus, is placed at the center of every enterprise.
Orthodoxy relates to teaching -- actions are not teaching.
Then the Pope, like the Muslims, misunderstands God's true nature.
Ever heard of the First Commandment?
