Mother Angelica's 60th Anniversary of Her Entrance into Religious Life
EWTN.com ^ | J+M+J 13 AUGUST A.D. 2004 | EWTN website

August 15, 2004 marks Mother Angelica's 60th Anniversary of her Entrance into the Religious Life.

The Sisters are busy preparing and planning a celebration fitting for such a special Anniversary!

They ask that you join them in praying for Mother and asking the Divine Child Jesus to give her an extra-special grace on that great day.

The Sisters assure us that Mother Angelica is in VERY good spirits.

Recently she has been spending time in Our Lady of the Angels Monastery's canning room helping the Sisters prepare garden vegetables for canning. While sitting there snapping beans, she keeps the Sisters laughing and entertained!

As Mother Angelica continues to recover from the stroke she suffered on Christmas Eve 2001, we would like to present her with a Spiritual Bouquet arranged from your prayers.

Click here to include your prayer in the bouquet.

Link to prayer bouquet isn't working.

As far as Mother Angelica goes....I remember a few years ago when I saw her and her nuns on EWTN, and the first thought I had was "that's the way nuns used to look...back when there were actually real nuns." I honestly wondered at that time if there were any real nuns left. Then I heard her on her TV show. First impression I had was that she knew more about the Catholic faith, doctrine, etc. than many a priest or bishop. About a year later I heard about the no-count "bishop" in Montgomery (the momzer Mahoneyite) who was giving her and her nuns a lot of static. And she was standing right up to him! Shoot, anyone that will stand up to Mahoney and his puppets has got to have good in them, and I cheered her on! I was still Anglican, but figured if she was standing in front of me, she wouldn't be too upset to have a fan from the other bank of the Tiber supporting her.

My favorite Mother Angelica line - "No doctrine, no dollars."

Happy, 60th, Mother A - we could use a lot more like you. May your reward in Heaven be great. God bless y'all real good.

Thank you! I hear the bells!

How this great woman has been blessed by God! How I have been blessed by this great woman's presence and her obedience to God's call.

I had no idea she had been a nun that long!

God bless her for bringing so much inspiration and truth to millions around the world :)

EWTN is a reason to have cable TV.

"I prayed so hard for you. It saddens and hurts me that the two young men whom I raised to believe in the Ten Commandments have returned to me as two thieves, with filthy mouths and bad attitudes."

Yes! I recently had to 'upgrade' my subscription in order to get EWTN 24/7 otherwise it was pre-empted by TBN and also BCTV (Boston Catholic TV) - BCTV is awful, I think I'd rather get TBN and watch Benny Hinn.

I still avoid Bob and Penny (WE LOVE YOU!) Lord though. ;-)

Mother Angelica is going to be on The World Over with Raymond Arroyo tonight for her 60th anniversary. I think it's 8PM ET, and 7PM CT.
