This is a pretty poor place to be putting their theological foot down, when they are still treading VERY GINGERLY on Politicians that Prostitute their Catholic ethnicity for Votes.

No they're not. Every single bishop in this country signed a statement that tells those politicians who support abortion that they should not receive the Eucharist. They put the onus on THEM. It's THEIR souls, after all.

Some bishops will refuse the Eucharist, others won't but the message is still the same.
