Read some Calvin and Augustine and R.C. Sproul and John Owen. Even if it doesn't persuade you, you'll understand where the Reformed are coming from.

IMO, RCs are well-versed in their own religion, but sadly unfamiliar with Protestantism.

As an example, I watched "Kill Bill-2" last night. In the wedding scene, we have a minister and his wife presiding over the ceremony. However, on the wall is a large crucifix.

Now, any Protestant knows that's just not going to happen in ANY Baptist or Pentecostal church, which this obviously was.

Just as obviously, Tarantino is/was a Roman Catholic and assumes EVERY Christian church has a crucifix on the wall.

FYI, the empty cross is preferred in Protestant churches because it signifies Christ's Resurrection. His work has been accomplished. Our salvation is set. It truly is "finished." The empty cross is the saving cross. Christ's sacrifice was real; He is risen. Thank you, God.

I'm afraid I know it too well. And Augustine, whom you name, believed in the Immaculate Conception.

An empty cross doesn't signify anything however, an empty tomb certainly does.

The rain is pouring, the thunder is rolling, the wind is starting to pick up and the sky out over the Atlantic side is putting on a nifty light-show.

OP will be incommunicado a few days until Charley blows through the Keys.

Best, OP
