"What do you mean by desecrations?"
To treat something sacred with contempt--as the Bishop of Fatima and his Vatican superiors have done. Fatima is reverenced as a shrine for Catholics everywhere. It is where the Mother of Jesus appeared and performed a great wonder. This is not superstition. It happened and was witnessed by 70,000 people, some of them atheists, many of them journalists who recorded their experience.
That's what I would think a desecration is. But the Hindu's, according to our intrepid Mr. Vennari, displayed the utmost respect, putting face paint on to make the journey and removing their shoes (see picture) as little jeremiah suggested would be a sign of reverence. They did not desecrate anything because they did not treat anything as not sacred.
