Catholics all over the world know of this abomination. It would be reasonable to assume that Rome also knows and approves.

Catholics all over the world know of this abomination.

Only those who follow Fatima news closely know about it, which is a very small number of Catholics.

That's hardly reasonable at all. All sorts of stuff goes on in the Church which Rome knows of and disapproves.

The following is not an attempt to apologize for Rome's unthinkable actions, but to offer a consolation that, yes, the gift of Fatima will not be destroyed.

The shrine of Fatima is *not* being turned into a Pagan temple. It is Catholic, will remain Catholic and has never, nor, God willing, will ever permit such abominations as pagan worship. At the same time, the stories which have been posted on several Free Republic threads are true. There are pagan sacrifices being conducted at Fatima. How are both these statements true?

The pagan shrine is not the same shrine that has been worshipped at for nearly a century by Catholic faithful. The Fatima shrine had attracted a great deal of attention, even among non-Christian peoples, such as Hindi and Moslems. The United Nations exerted great pressure on the Catholic Church to accomodate these faiths better at Fatima, but the Church refused. Instead, a massive, gaudy, interfaith shrine was planned near the Fatima site under the jurisdiction of the Catholic Church, but welcoming pagan faiths.

If the United Nations was hell-bent on establishing such a shrine, the Catholic Church should have had nothing to do with it. Let the Moslems and Hindi build their own pagan temples! That the Catholic Church participates in such a Pantheon is a major source of confusion and scandal, as well as a clear violation of Church law: A church has been constructed for the express purpose of sacrilege.

Pray that the Pagan pantheon does not draw the faithful away from the authentic house of God, but that the multitudinous pagans who come to worship at the pantheon will be drawn instead to know more about the truth, and one day desire to share authentic faith in the house of God.

"All sorts of stuff goes on in the Church which Rome knows of and disapproves."

Yeah, Rome disapproves so much that all the worst perpetrators are quickly promoted to the sacred college of cardinals.

"All sorts of stuff goes on in the Church which Rome knows of and disapproves."

Please explain how this bishop, who actively promotes animal sacrifices during the Mass, was recently promoted to head the largest see in southern Africa?
http://www.christianitytoday.com/ct/2000/115/46.0.html

"The libation of the blood of a slaughtered animal could be introduced into funeral rites at the home of the deceased, at the start of the night vigil, or the evening before a marriage, he said. "This should be linked to the word of the Gospel so that the ceremony clearly has a Christian stamp on it."

"If used at Mass, its best position would be before the offertory [an early stage in the Mass], because the libation is a gift to the ancestors, not to God." "

Oh, and by the way, this recently promoted archbishop also serves on the board of Lovelife, a contraceptive-promoting organization which uses pornographic advertizing and is aligned with Planned Parenthood.
And all this to avoid schism???http://www.lovelife.org.za/corporate/news/article.php?uid=214
"Launched in September 1999, loveLife combines high profile media with adolescent friendly services in government clinics, outreach and support programs for youth across South Africa. loveLife is implemented by a consortium of leading South African public health organizations---the Health Systems Trust, the Reproductive Health Research Unit of the University of the Witwatersrand and the Planned Parenthood Association of South Africa—in coalition with more than 100 community-based organizations."

Do you really think God minds? I believe He is above getting offended by our petty squabbles...besides, if He didn't want it to happen, it wouldn't have happened. Perhaps, God is trying to get all of us here on earth, a little closer.

That horrendous building is in the works, but by no means complete. The recent hindu ceremony did, in fact, take place in the Little Chapel of the Apparitions (the Capelinha).

Again, I find it hard to believe that the Vatican wouldn't have heard about this by now, but I will point no fingers as I do not know.

Whether or not they know is irrelevant. They certainly knew about the infamous "Assisi prayer meetings", and what happened there was worse, IMHO.

God very much minds. This was nothing short of the worship of demons in a Catholic sanctuary, God minds quite a bit.

So, by your logic, God wanted Eve to eat the forbidden fruit, he wanted Cane to kill Abel, he wanted the people to reject and kill His son, he wants women to kill their babies, etc. That is quite frankly, more insane than your first suggestion, which is pretty bad.

God does not try to bring us closer by having people offer sacrifices to His bitter enemies in a place where His perfect and eternal sacrifice is offered, nor anywhere else for that matter.

How do you know what bothers God?

Since God is all-powerful and all-knowing, how can anything happen without His knowledge and therefore, His sanction?

How do you know what bothers God?

I know what bothers God because He founded a Church responsible for teaching us the way to eternal life, and, conversely, eternal death. Through that Church, God has made it quite clear that it is an abomination to offer sacrifice to the devil. Refer to the first commandment, which covers having gods other than Him.

Since God is all-powerful and all-knowing, how can anything happen without His knowledge and therefore, His sanction?

God is a single and pure act of being. Contradiction does not exist in Him, thus He can not will both good and evil. He does permit evil to take place because He will not revoke man's free will. This permission is not a positive act of God's will, though, and can't be.

We believe differently.

Why can't contradiction exist within God, He made all things possible. He can do anything.

Why is it, that many can believe in resurrection, the Trinity, virgin birth, miracles, God's creation of the universe, of time itself, etc., but these same people cannot believe that what we conceive of as both good and evil here on earth, cannot both exist within God? Why is God limited so? It seems awfully arrogant to perceive of God this way. I think He is capable of anything.

You didn't really answer my question why.

I will try an example...Hitler was born, and was evil. God, being all-knowledgable, knew what Hitler was going to do, before Hitler was even conceived. God is all-powerful, why did God allow Hitler to be born?

Why does God allow people to build homes at the foot of a volcano, knowing they will die, while at the same time, God blesses these same people with beautiful babies and happiness?

God gives man a free will. Without a free will, we could never truly love God nor freely follow His commandments. God loves us so much that He gives us this will even though we have the potential to commit tremendous works of evil--or for that matter, good.

We cannot know what God has in his designs for our lives, except that He wishes for us to return to Him our wills. How do we do this? We take up our cross and follow Him. If we love Him, we will follow His commandments.

The Church provides us the way, the Truth, and the Light in order to love God in this manner, dispensing the grace through the Sacraments instituted by Our Lord Himself, lending us the hand needed to persevere against the world, the devil, and our own weak nature.

So again, God does not will that we sin--He does not will sacrilege against His Church--though He will allow us to profane Him (for a time being, for God is not mocked). It is up for us to stand for Truth, to be courageous, even against those whose job it is to protect us.

To prevent a schism.

The church of satan, aka the conciliar church, novus ordo church, church headed by the apostate Karol Wojtyla is already in schism with the true Roman Catholic Church. They are not part of it in the least.
